Heidi has been in the veterinary field since 1997 and graduated from St. Petersburg College with an AS Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2000. She spent her first 12 years in general practice in her native state of Florida before following her passion for surgery and relocating to Colorado in 2009.
She became a member of the Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians in 2018. As a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Surgery, she is a member of an elite group of technicians dedicated to the advancement of cutting-edge veterinary surgery. She trains veterinary technicians nationally in total hip replacement and other surgical skills. She enjoys boating and fishing while visiting her family in Florida and paddle boarding here in Colorado with her three kids.
Amanda is a registered veterinary technician (RVT) who received her Bachelors in Animal and Veterinary Science from West Virginia University and her CVT in Alabama. She began her career in the marine and zoo field, moving into veterinary medicine in 2011. Amanda has worked in specialty departments including emergency, surgery and oncology. As a scrub nurse at Spry Companions, she assists the surgeon with orthopedic procedures ensuring a seamless process while maintaining the highest of standards.
Amanda has one senior pup named Sam, who is a 13 year old black Labrador and her adventure buddy. She moved to sunny Colorado from Florida to explore the outdoors and enjoys hiking in the mountains. Her favorite animals are red pandas and secretary birds.
Jess is our Lead Technician at Spry. She graduated from Bel Rae technical institute of animal technology in 2012. She has been practicing in orthopedics for 10 years. Her dedication to doing the best possible medicine is impressive, and she is always pushing herself and those around her to be their best. She enjoys the outdoors, hiking with her dogs, fishing, and traveling. Indoors she loves painting, crafting, reading and hanging out with her family.
Bre graduated with an Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She has been working in the veterinary industry for 5 years with a focus in veterinary specialty including dental, sports medicine and rehabilitation, emergency, and surgery. She is passionate about the care and support of her patients undergoing surgery making sure they have top quality anesthesia monitoring. Bre enjoys connecting with clients and helping them understand how to manage their companion's recovery post-operatively.
At this time, Bre has no personal pets but she will one day have a black Labrador. Until then she gets to spoil her patients at work as if they were her own. On her off time Bre participates in recreational sports like pickleball and dodgeball. One of her favorite past-times is sitting on the patio enjoying happy hour. Her favorite animal movie is Fox and the Hound.
Sandra has worked as a registered and certified veterinary technician since 2010. She received her Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and continued on to become a member of the Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians. She has spent the last four years dedicated to veterinary orthopedic surgery having worked in Minnesota, California, and now Colorado.
Sandra enjoys hiking with her buddy Leinie and she is excited to explore Colorado. Her favorite past time is taking long walks from the refrigerator to the couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry's. Jurassic Park is her most-loved movie. She likes to use movie quotes in conversation to help break the ice.
Shea is our Lead Companion Representative who has a long history in the veterinary industry. Born and raised in Denver, she started as a veterinary assistant in 2008 and has spent the last 11 years in veterinary orthopedics. She is passionate about the care of animals and aims to make your pet feel safe, and happy at the vet's office.
Shea has one furry companion named Buddy, aka Potato, aka Darth Tater (because who doesn't have at least 3 nicknames for their furry friend). Buddy, a rescue pup, is a Canine Good Citizen certified therapy dog with a non-profit that services our first responders and military. When Shea is not working, she loves to indulge in excessive amounts of reading, traveling to white sandy beaches with blue water, thrifting, and gardening.
Juli graduated from Pikes Peak State College with an Associate of Applied Science in dental assisting with EDDA certification. She spent 11 years in pediatric dentistry, and 3 years as a groomer before moving to the veterinary field. For the last 4 years she has worked at a veterinary orthopedic center where she learned the intricacies of animal orthopedics. She brings extensive customer service experience and a compassion for animals that makes her an exceptional member of the Spry team.
Juli has two adult children, and they have two dogs, Gemini and Ares. She is a Colorado Springs native and loves that she grew up in this beautiful state. When she is not diligently working she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Her favorite animal movie is Strays and her favorite part of being in the veterinary industry is the animals.
Amy joined Spry with a longstanding history in the veterinary field. She previously worked for five years in a veterinary general practice and one year in a feline specialty clinic. She specializes in customer service and enjoys taking the time to get to know our clients and their companions with an empathetic and knowledgeable approach. She is especially drawn to our feline companions.
Amy has 2 kitties. 1 female rescue named Kermit and 1 male kitten tripod named Queso. Outside of work she enjoys spending her time reading, swimming, hiking, painting, traveling, and finding all the live music events she can dance to. Helping pets get back to their happy healthy selves is her favorite part of being in the veterinary industry.
Montana joins Spry Companions with a wide-range of customer service skills and veterinary experience. She attended community college in Syracuse, NY studying early childhood education. When the pandemic hit, Montana took a step back from her manager position in hospitality to focus on veterinary medicine and pursue her dream of working with animals. With previous roles as a veterinary receptionist and assistant in general practice, she is enthusiastic about transitioning into orthopedic specialty.
Montana and her boyfriend live with their black Labrador, forever puppy, named Rue. They moved to Colorado four years ago and enjoy all that its outdoor life has to offer including camping, hiking, and swimming. They love cheering for the Denver Nuggets. Montana's favorite animal movie is Homeward Bound, which she watched with her two brothers growing up.
Gena is one of Spry Companions' talented assistants. She has a background in the human medical field, studying at Arapahoe Community College. Gena's interest in human medicine and her passion for animals led her to explore professions in veterinary medicine. She has an extensive background in customer service and human healthcare giving her the knowledge and empathy needed to support her patients.
Gena has 2 beautiful children, one canine companion named Fenrir, one feline companion named Nala, and one bearded dragon named Flokie. She is incredibly dedicated to Spry and our patients working full time here while also continuing to further her purpose of helping humans feel better by being a caregiver on the weekends.
